WW2 British "Matilda" Infantry Fighting Tank
Entering production in 1937 the "Matilda" Infantry tank at the time was one of the heaviest and most well armoured tanks of the period. It weighed an impressive 25 tons and had 78mm of frontal armour making it impervious to most anti-armour rounds of the time. The trade of was a smaller QF-2 pounder (40 mm) gun and reduced mobility.
This would prove consequential against German lightning attacks that revolved around armoured thrusts. Despite this the Matilida continued to serve till the end of WW2.
