Enhanced specifically for the US Navy the F-35C features CATOBAR capabilites and folding wing tips for operations on the US Navy carrier strike groups. Larger wings and stronger landing gear also assist in carrier take offs and landings.
The larger wings also help to increase range and weapons payload of the aircraft.
The F-35C is capable of carrying a powerful armament complement of AA, ASMn Anti-Ship missiles and JDAMs in internal bomb bays and on external hardpoints under the wing.
