WW2 US Navy USS Johnston (DD-557) Destroyer


Entering service in 1943 the USS Johnston (DD-557) destroyer class naval vessel was immediately put into action on the Pacific front. The 2100 long ton naval vessel feature x 5 impressive 127mm main guns and had a top speed of 70km/hr. 

The USS Johnston was sadly sunk in October 1944 in the Battle of Samar after it valiently defended a US carrier escort that come under attack of the coast of Philipines by an Imperial Japanese Flotilla.
