Korean War (1951) US Army 2nd Infantry Division x10
The US Army 2nd Infantry Divsion also known as (Indian Head 2D) was the first unit to be rushed to Korea directly from the USA after the onset of hostilities. Its mission was to stop advances made by the KPA and PVA.
The 2nd Infantry division was heavily involved in battles around key rivers that intersected through Korea and was apart of Operation Thunderbolt that resulted in the critical Battle of Chipyong-ni which lead to the capture of the village stalling of the Chinese 8th army and stabilisation of the US/UN front.
To this day the 2nd Infantry Division continues to operate in South Korea
