Entering serial production in the early 80s the CH-53 was purpose built to carry heavy lift utility and duty functions of the USMC and Navy.
The CH-53E Super Stallion is capable of carrying 30+ troops or upto 33 tons and is powered by x3 turboshaft engines giving it a top speed of upto 170km/hr.
Over 200 CH-53 heavy lift helicopters in different variants have been built for the USMC and Navy.
