Swedish Strv 103B S-Tank

The unique appearance of the Swedish S-tank stemmed from studies that indicated taller tanks with turrets were more likely to be hit and crew suffer serious injuries or death compared to turretless tanks.
Hence in 1967 the Stridsvagn 103 entered service with Swedish armoured units. Over 290 of the turretless turbine powered Strv 103s were built in a 30 year period to follow.
Despite never seeing combat the tank performed similarly to other western designs of the the time such as the Leopard 1 or M60 Patton.
