The Bora MRK-27 Surface Effect Ship (SES) started production during the Soviet era. They are intended for coastal defence and are currently service with the Russian Navy's Black Sea Fleet.
Despite its relatively small size its well suited for marine operations featuring a suite of armaments like the Quadruple MT-206ME launchers for the 3M-80E"Moskit" marine cruise missiles and an AK–176M automatic 76.2 mm cannon for taking on ships of mid sized displacement.
