PLAN KJ-600 AWAC Aircraft

The KJ-600 is an advanced airborne early warning and control centre (AWAC) high-wing military aircraft that uses a rotodome ASEA radar. It made its debut with the Chinese Navy in late 2020 and is expected to enter service in 2022 with the Type 03 aircraft carrier.  

AWACs like the KJ-600 can be launched from aircraft carriers thus giving carrier groups extended aerial and ocean based situational awareness. AWACs are a critical component of any 'blue water Navy'.
