After several Commando raids by British Special forces and a general consensus that an Allied offensive will likely come through Britain during WW2. Hit ler under Führer Directive No. 40 ordered the construction of an elaborate and thorough system of defensive strongpoints.
These included bunkers and forts equipped with heavy coastal artillery and troop garrisons that would pre-empt Allied landings on the Northern coasts of occupied Europe.
