The "Blitz" transport truck by 1930 was already widely used by the civilian German industry. By 1937 in an effort to standardise German logistics and transportation the military command adopted the Kfz.305 standardisation for all Blitz trucks. In total over 140000 were built during WW2 due to their simple and well built design.
The Blitz with its 73Hp engine could carry up to 3 tons of cargo/ soldiers and was also capable of towing upto 5 tons of equipment like howtizers
