The North American F-82E Twin Escort fighter was a twin-fuselage, long-range escort developed late in World War II, powered by two V-1650 engines. Designed for missions over the Pacific, it featured a top speed of about 460 mph, a range over 2,000 miles, and was armed with six .50 caliber machine guns.
Though completed before the war ended, it saw no WW2 combat and entered service postwar.
