The Panther Ausf. G Panzer rolled out of German factories in late 1943 with a redesigned chasis implemented amongst other minor improvements. Additional side armour was built into the tank due to the advent and proliferation of more hand held anti-tank weapons.
Furthermore the Ausf. G upgrade of the panther featured a 7.5 cm Kw.K.42 L/70 main armament that was placed into a turret with upto 110mm of frontal armour. In total almost 3000 such models were built until the eventful month of April 1945.
