The Panzerkampfwagen III was a medium tank design developed by the German army in the 1930s. It was primary intended to fight other armoured vehicles. Over 5700 Panzer III were built and they saw continued service till the end of WW2.
The Ausf. L was an upgraded version of the Ausf. J, featuring a longer 5 cm gun and additional 20 mm armor plates on the hull and turret front. It also incorporated a new system for transferring heated engine coolant to other vehicles.
