These included the Kuban Cossacks, skilled cavalry from the Kuban region; the 33rd SS Charlemagne Division, mainly French volunteers fighting on the Eastern Front; the 11th SS Nordland Division, composed of Scandinavian soldiers in woodland camouflage; and the Legion Freies Arabien, a smaller unit of Middle Eastern and North African volunteers with limited combat roles.
