PLAAF Nanchang Q-5 Ground Attack Aircraft

The Q-5 was an upgraded and modified derifitive of the Soviet Mig-19 fighter. Its development came about after the PLA leadership requested a ground attack aircraft to complement its fleet. In total around 1000 were built, upgraded and maintained for a period that spanned nearly 50 years. The PLAAF retired the Q-5 in 2017.
The Q-5 armament featured x2 Norinco Type 23-2K 23 mm (0.906 in), x2 57mm rocket pods fixed under each wing, aswell as other hardpoints for either external fuel or unguided bombs
