Russian Air Force Ka-50 "Black Shark" Attack Helicopter

Entering service in 1995 the Ka-50 "Black Shark" is an all round performance Attack Helicopter capable of performing both night and day missions aswell ground support and air supremacy tasks. 

The helicopter is protected with an armour cage allowing it to withstand 12.7mm AP and 23mm HE fragmentation rounds. The Ka-50 also features a Missile Approach Warning (MAW) system and electronic countermeasure suite. 

Armament for this particlar model consists of ×1 semi-rigid 30 mm Shipunov 2A42 cannon x 2 rocket pods attached on the external wing hardpoints for the S-8KO rockets and x4 9M39 Igla missiles for air defence.
