Russian Army T-14 Armata Main Battle Tank

The T-14 is Russia's latest generation (4th) Main Battle Tank (MBT). Production has been ongoing since 2016 with over 70 currently in testing with the 2nd Guards Tamanskaya Motor Rifle Division. 

The T-14 is a radical move away from the T-72 MBT which have typically served as a basis for modernised tanks like the T-80 and T-90. There is a stronger emphasis on troop safety and modern state of the art electronics suites. 

The T-14 features a unique auto reloading unmanned turret that is equipped with a 125mm 2A82-1M smoothbore cannon. This canon can fire a range of munitions including ATGMs and cluster munitions. The tank is protected by the Malachit dual-explosive reactive armour (ERA) system and the Afghanit (Russian: Афганит) active protection system (APS).
