This WW2 German Waffen-SS squad wore the 43er "Sumpf" camo from late 1943 till the end of the war. The splinter-based camouflage with irregular green and brown shapes over a lighter base, was designed to break up soldier outline.
This camo worked well in central and eastern Europe were landscapes consisted of forests, grasslands, and fields.
