WW2 Moltke Bridge "Battle of Berlin"

Passing over the river Spree in Berlin the Moltke Bridge in April 1945 was the scene of ruthless fighting between the Soviet 3rd Shock Army and remenants of the German SS and Volksturm.
The defence of the bridge was critical as it lay 600 meters from the German Reichstag however after a day of fighting and an unsuccessful demolition of the bridge the Soviets were able to secure their bridgehead.
