Despite early development classifying the Panzer IV as a heavy tank its continued production saw it reclassified to medium tank class.
Production of the Pz. IV class of tanks began in 1935. In total 35 Pz. Ausf A tanks were produced. The Panzer IV Ausf. A, featured heavily in the early German Panzer divisions that participated in the invasion of Poland.
This Panzer IV Ausf. A, features a stubby 7,5 cm Kw.K. 37 L/24 gun as well as all-round armour up to 15mm thick.
