The Wars of the Roses was a series of English civil wars fought between the House of Lancaster and the House of York. This decimated the entirety of two male lines from both families who had a claim to the throne

The conflict lasted from 1455 to 1487 and finally ended with the victory of Henry Tudor, who became King Henry VII.
