CHF 29.00
The first flight of the Tupolev Tu-2 took place in January 1941. It was created to directly challenge the Junker-88 bombers. Towards the final stage of WW2 the Tu-2 bomber was imperative to Soviet success.
The powerful twin engines of the Tupolev turned it into a high speed front line bomber which due to its sturdy armour profile was able to excel in performing dive bombing attacks against German armour and mobile units.
Over 2000 of these aircraft were built during the war and they helped in giving the Soviet air force fast and hard hitting strike power.
