(CMSA) Rescue Ship & Helicopter
The Chinese Maritime Safety Administration (CMSA) have grown in capability over the last 20 years. They are resposible for search and rescue operations along the Chinese coast and even in blue water.
The Donghaijiu 101 search and rescue vessel was built in 2012 and has a displacement of almost 1800 tons. It was involved in salvage operations in 2014 when searching for the missing MH370 airlplane in the south Indian Ocean.
The helicopter is the S-76D which constitutes an improved avionics suite over the standard S-76 which have been used reliably by the Chinese in the Search and Rescue (SAR) role for over 20 years despite coming from an American manufacturer.
