WW2 German Panther AUSF.D Medium Tank

Designed as a replacement for the older Panzer III and IV models. The Panther had great cross country and long distance engagement rates thanks to reliable gun. The Panther Ausf.D featured a powerful 7.5cm KwK 42L/70 main armament combined with excellent frontal sloped armour which reached almost 100mm on the frontal plates. 

Due to the early  success of the tank in countering Soviet T-34s over 6000 Panthers were built by the German military throughout WW2.

The largest ever engagement of Panthers occurred in late 1944 when 470 were deployed to engage US and allied forces around the Ardennes in what latter would be known as the Battle of the Bulge.
