The Atlantic Wall was a vast system of coastal fortifications built by Germany during World War II to defend against an Allied invasion. Stretching from Norway down to the French-Spanish border, it included bunkers, artillery positions, minefields, and obstacles like steel “hedgehogs” and barbed wire.
Many positions were reinforced concrete bunkers with anti-aircraft and anti-tank guns.
