The DF-17 is a Chinese road-mobile, solid-fuel MRBM built to carry the DF-ZF hypersonic glide vehicle; it entered service around 2019. It’s estimated to have a range of up to 2,500 km, reach speeds of about Mach 5–10 in glide, and can carry either conventional or nuclear payloads. Launched from a TEL, the HGV’s high speed and maneuverability make it harder to track and intercept than standard re-entry vehicles.
